Live at RockpalastRockpalast (‘Rock Palace’) is a legendary ‘live’ music TV show hosted in Germany by the WDR channel. It first broadcast in 1974 and has become a pan-European television institution. It has its own fan club and online forum, and over nearly four decades, it has become a trademark of quality viewing and listening.
Performance date: WDR, Studio A, Köln, 18.01.1976 (the first of their three appearances on the show by the band - others were in 1983 & 1998).
The set contains a mix of classic blues numbers and slick, self-penned material from their most recent LPs at that time - ‘Sense Of Direction’ (a US Top 40 entry) and ‘Stamp Album’.
Features the classic line-up of Peter Haycock, Colin Cooper, John Cuffley, Derek Holt and Richard Jones - a band at peak of their popularity, merging rock, blues and funk.
A much-changed Climax Blues Band line-up is still gigging today.
Informative booklet with twin liner notes - in English by Michael Heatley (Record Collector/Guitar & Bass) and in German by journalist and broadcaster Uli Kneip.
Expertly restored and remastered. Superb vision, outstanding sound. The best in the business!
