#1 Featuring Concrete & Clay
If you remember the days of Pirate Radio and Wonderful Radio London, then you’ll remember those great hit records they promoted in the Swinging Sixties. One of the hottest on their play list and heavily promoted by the late DJ Kenny Everett was a wonderful song by a bright new British pop group.
That song was ‘Concrete And Clay’, performed by Unit 4 2 and, 45 years later, it is still played on retro radio stations around the world. The lilting sing-a-long tune has an irresistible beat, with catchy lyrics to match. It was just one of many fine compositions by a group that included brilliant songwriters Tommy Moeller and the late Brian Parker.
The 15 tracks on this CD naturally includes their 1965 chart topping greatest hit, but many more fine singles tracks like ‘The Green Fields’, ‘Sorrow and Pain’ and another Top Twenty hit, ‘You’ve Never Been In love Like This Before’. With three bonus items and both the original LP and new CD liner notes, here is a commemorative souvenir of a group that brightened up the airwaves in the 1960s.
