The Witch Queen of New Orleans

The Witch Queen of New Orleans

"The Witch Queen Of New Orleans" was a Cajun funk hit that become also became a disco dance floor favourite. It got to Number 21 in the US Billboard chart in January 1972 and helped launch the first Native American rock band.

Redbone was the brainchild of the brothers Pat (bass) and Lolly (guitar) Vegas who drummed up this unique and welcome project in 1968.

The original 1971 eleven track album has ‘The Witch Queen Of New Orleans’, as well as ‘The Sun Never Shines On The Lonely’, ‘Emotions’ and ‘When You Got Trouble’. We have added a bonus track, ‘Chant: 13th Hour’, that was originally the B-side of ‘The Witch Queen Of New Orleans’.
