If 2 & Live In Liverpool DVD
‘If 2’, first released on Island in 1970, is a gem of an album.
Such was the success of If’s debut, that they were rushed into studios in New York during a U.S. tour to record their second album. The band’s tenor and alto sax player Dave Quincy wrote two of the six songs, including ‘Your City Is Falling’ and ‘I Couldn’t Write and Tell You’, while Dick Morrissey contributed ‘Sunday Sad’. Although If were strong on instrumental solos, these were worked into songs delivered with power and panache by vocalist J.W.Hodkinson.
This superb recording is now available twin-packaged with previously unreleased footage of the band ‘live’ in concert at Liverpool University in 1971, featuring four of their most popular numbers of the era.
Now available in Jewel case format with the original LP on CD, plus previously unreleased footage of the band in 1971, ‘live’ in concert, available for the first time on DVD.
Booklet with authoritative and extensive liner notes written by respected ‘Record Collector’ journalist Michael Heatley, featuring a full track-by-track interview with If’s Dave Quincy.
Expertly remastered – superb sound - top quality reproduction. The best in the business!
